Parking at our town cottages
Castle Cottage
Parking is available at The Angel Hotel car park or in the metered car park directly opposite.
Sugarloaf Cottage
Parking is available at The Angel Hotel car park or in the metered car park directly opposite.
The Lodge
One car may park directly outside The Lodge on the brick paving.
Please do not park on the grass or block the main Castle driveway.
Alternatively, parking is available at The Angel Hotel.
No. 17 Cottage
Parking is available at The Abergavenny Hotel car park or in the metered car park opposite.
Reserved parking
Reserved parking is available at our sister property, The Angel Hotel:
£25 per car, per night
£35 per car, per night for electric charging spaces
Reserved spaces must be booked in advance. If the car park is full on arrival, a large metered car park is located directly opposite. This car park is free after 6pm and before 8am, and has reduced rates on Sundays.

Do any cottages have ground-floor rooms?
Castle Cottage offers a ground-floor garden room.
All other cottages have bedrooms on the first and/or second floor, with approximately 10 steps to each level.
Can you recommend any local businesses in Abergavenny?
We recommend dining at our sister properties:
The Art Shop & Chapel – open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch
The Angel Hotel – Oak Room Restaurant and Foxhunter Bar, open seven days a week

A complimentary taxi to and from our sister properties for meals is available.
Can you provide a Z-bed, cot or highchair?
We provide travel cots and highchairs at no extra charge.
Z-beds are not available, but you’re welcome to bring your own travel cot if preferred.
Do you accept dogs, and is there a charge?
Yes, dogs are welcome, and we charge £15 per dog, per night, which includes a dog bed and bowl.
Do you provide housekeeping and breakfast?
Breakfast items are stocked in your refrigerator on arrival.
Daily housekeeping takes place from approximately 12pm, with breakfast replenished each day.
If you’d prefer an undisturbed stay, we’re happy to provide breakfast items in advance.
Please note: On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, breakfast items are provided at the start of your stay, and housekeeping is not available.
Do you offer late check-out?
Standard check-out is 11am.
Late check-out may be available, depending on occupancy and whether your cottage is booked that day. We can confirm availability during the week of your stay.
If you’d like extra time, we recommend booking the cottage for friends or family on your departure day to avoid any rush.
Can we cook in the cottages?
Our cottages are suitable for light self-catering.
Kitchen facilities vary by cottage and may include an induction hob or an oven.

The Angel Hotel
What is The Angel’s cancellation policy?
If you book directly with us or via our website, you may cancel free of charge up to 3pm on the day prior to arrival.
For bookings of five rooms or more, a different policy applies and will be outlined in your confirmation.
Reservations made through Booking.com or Expedia are non-refundable and non-transferable, with payment taken at the time of booking.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is guaranteed from 3pm. If your room is ready earlier, we’ll be happy to check you in on arrival. Check-out is 12pm for guests who book directly, and 11am for guests booking via Booking.com or Expedia. Early and late check-out can be arranged in advance, subject to availability and a charge.
Is Wi-Fi available at The Angel?
Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Does The Angel have accessible facilities?
While we do not have ground-floor bedrooms, there is a lift to the first and second floors. There are two steps at the front entrance, and a temporary ramp can be provided on request. From the car park, there are several steps down to the hotel, so we recommend dropping off guests at the front if needed. Please contact us directly to discuss individual requirements, and we’ll do our best to assist.
Is parking available at the hotel?
Yes. We have a rear car park, available on a first-come, first-served basis. A small number of spaces can be reserved in advance for £25 per night, and electric charging spaces are available to reserve for £35 per night. To arrange parking, please contact reception.
Is The Angel dog-friendly?
Dogs are welcome in The Foxhunter Bar and the Courtyard, but not in guestrooms or other dining rooms.
Do you provide cots or extra beds?
Yes. Cots are provided free of charge, and z-beds (suitable for children up to 12) are available in Superior and Deluxe rooms for an additional charge. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare your room accordingly.
What dining options are available at the hotel?
The Angel offers several dining experiences:
- The Oak Room – refined dining with Two AA Rosettes
- The Foxhunter Bar – relaxed, all-day dining and drinks
- Afternoon Tea – served in the Wedgewood Room, Thursday to Sunday
- The Courtyard – seasonal outdoor dining (weather permitting, no reservations)
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily, and room service is also available.
