Anti-Slavery Policy

Last updated: January 2026

1. Policy Statement

1.1 Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking, all of which involve depriving an individual of their liberty for personal or commercial exploitation.
1.2 In practice, these terms mean:
Slavery: Treating a person as property, depriving them of freedom, and exercising control as though owning them.
Servitude: Coercing someone to provide services against their will.
Forced or Compulsory Labour: Work or service exacted from a person under threat or penalty, without voluntary consent.
Human Trafficking: Arranging or facilitating a person’s travel with the intent to exploit them, whether sexually or otherwise, even if the person has consented to the travel.
1.3 House of Caradog maintains a strict zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting with integrity and ethics in all business dealings and relationships. Effective systems and controls are in place to prevent, identify, and address any risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
1.4 We are committed to transparency in our business practices and expect the same high standards from all contractors, suppliers, and business partners. Our contractual terms explicitly prohibit the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour, or the exploitation of adults or children. We also expect our suppliers to impose equivalent standards on their own supply chains.
1.5 This policy applies to all employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners of House of Caradog, regardless of role or location.
1.6 This policy does not form part of any employee’s contract of employment and may be amended at any time.

2. Responsibility for the Policy

2.1 The Chief Executive Director holds overall responsibility for ensuring that this policy complies with legal and ethical standards and that all those under our control adhere to it.
2.2 The Human Resources Department is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of this policy, including monitoring its effectiveness, handling related queries, and auditing internal controls to ensure compliance.
2.3 Managers and supervisors must ensure their teams understand and comply with this policy and receive regular training on identifying and preventing modern slavery risks in our operations and supply chains.

3. Compliance with the Policy

3.1 All individuals working for or with House of Caradog must read, understand, and comply with this policy.
3.2 Preventing, detecting, and reporting modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chains is everyone’s responsibility. You must avoid any activity that could lead to, or appear to lead to, a breach of this policy.
3.3 Employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners must report any actual or suspected breach of this policy to their manager, Human Resources, or House of Caradog’s reporting contact as soon as possible.
3.4 We encourage early reporting of any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery at any level of our operations or supply chains.
3.5 If you are unsure whether certain behaviour, working conditions, or practices constitute modern slavery, you should seek guidance from your manager, Human Resources, or the employee assistance helpline.
3.6 House of Caradog promotes a culture of openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith, even if they are mistaken. We strictly prohibit retaliation against anyone who reports suspected modern slavery. Detrimental treatment includes dismissal, disciplinary action, threats, or any other adverse consequence.
If you believe you have suffered such treatment, contact our Human Resources immediately. All reports will be investigated promptly and treated confidentially. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith will not be tolerated.

4. Communication and Awareness

4.1 Training on this policy and on identifying modern slavery risks will be provided to all new employees during induction and refreshed periodically as needed.
4.2 Our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery will be clearly communicated to all suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the start of our relationship and reinforced as appropriate.

5. Breaches of This Policy

5.1 Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal for gross misconduct.
5.2 We reserve the right to terminate relationships with suppliers, contractors, or business partners who fail to comply with this policy.
